Test Platform
We downloaded, installed, and tested DVD neXt COPY Ultimate to run on two test computers. One computer was "Home-Brewed" with an Athlon AMD 64 X2 4800 Dual-Core processor running at 2.4GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Sony DRU-510A DVD/RW drive 32X (CD) and 12X (DVD). The other computer, a Gateway E06500D, with an Intel Pentium (R) running at 3GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Plextor PX-708A DVD/RW drive (40X (CD) and 12X (DVD). Installation & Test Results The installation was flawless on both test computers. The original DVD movie was "GroundHog Day" (1993) starring Bill Murray. The movie runtime was 101 minutes. Upon inserting the original DVD movie and pressing the "New" button, DVD neXt COPY Ultimate automatically detected the DVD. Twenty-Two minutes lapsed until we were prompted to insert blank DVD media. The DVD movie burning process was less than 10 minutes. We then inserted the copied DVD movie in our DVD player and the copy quality was that of the original to include all of the extras and menus options we selected. The same process was perform on our second test computer and it took 27 minutes to copy the movie and approximately 11 minutes to burn the movie to DVD.

We selected the Copy Main Movie Mode and after a few short seconds, DVD neXt COPY Ultimate scans in the DVD.

Next, we chose "Copy Main Movie."

Next, we unchecked and selected the en-AC3 audio. (DTS is for surround sound systems. Plus, we did not want the other languages encoded on our copied DVD).

After clicking the Start button, DVD neXt COPY Ultimate entered into a DVD Prescan sequence. We also noticed that we could preview the DVD as it is being copied.

After a short period of time, DVD neXt COPY Ultimate prompts to remove the original DVD movie and insert a blank DVD. After inserting a blank DVD, the final burning process begins.

DVD Copy completed in about 36 minutes. DVD neXt COPY Ultimate ejected the copied DVD from the PC’s DVD Writer.

We really like DVD neXt COPY Ultimate for many reasons. The user interface was easy to navigate and use. The software ran without a hitch. It can convert your DVD movies to DVD, iPod, PSP, or Zune formats. It also supports Blu-ray copy. It can copy up to 10 standard DVD movies onto one Blu-Ray Disc. The application had a very fast burn engine. The feature set included everything one would need for customizing the final DVD Copy product. The software application is a small file but power-packed.

DVD neXt COPY Ultimate is an extremely well packaged DVD movie copy application. It has all of the features of its major competitors plus the ability to copy Blu-ray. DVD neXt COPY Ultimate, produces high-quality DVD copies as well as allowing you to convert your DVD movies to iPod and PSP (Play Station Portable) mobile formats. Additionally, you can convert a DVD movie to AVI, MPEG, and Super Video CD (SVCD). It was really a "Plug ‘n Play" program. Using the "Movie Only" option, you simply insert your original DVD and click start. You also have plenty of features that give you total control over what want want included or excluded on your copied DVD. DVD neXt COPY Ultimate supports both DVD-5, DVD-9, and Blu-ray Discs. DVD neXt COPY Ultimate is also Vista compatible.
